How PMU World Reached 2,000 Attendees in Year Three by Building the Event for Social
Summary
For year three of PMU World, Danny Tran wanted the event to live on social media as much as in the room. We hired red carpet hosts, built social first installations and put an editor on site for daily recaps and sponsor testimonial cuts, all recorded in 4K. Focusing the show on one main stage saved $140,000 on AV and made room for more sponsor booths. Over four days in September 2025, 1,500 people came in person and 500 joined virtually, and about 130 rooms for the 2026 cruise were booked within a week.
The Problem
By year three, PMU World had the room and the sponsors. Danny Tran wanted the event to travel further than the room: less straight event footage, more social content that attendees and creators would actually post.
What We Did
Here is how we built it, from the first plan to the last guest out. One team held all of it.
- 1Returned to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood for a third year.
- 2Hired red carpet hosts to turn arrivals into content.
- 3Built more installations designed to be shared on social media.
- 4Put an editor on site to cut daily recap videos, and gave sponsors testimonial cuts for their own decks. Every session was recorded in 4K.
- 5Focused the show on one main stage, saving $140,000 on AV, and traded the VIP lounge for more sponsor booths.
- 6Moved the closing party to the Hard Rock's own pool areas.
